After you pass competencies and get signed off by the provider you will be eligible to do the skills test through the state’s skills testing agency.

The highest level of CDL license is typically referred to as a Class A CDL. This classification allows drivers to operate the largest and most complex commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, combination vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, with the towed vehicle(s) weighing more than 10,000 pounds. Class A CDL holders have the most extensive range of driving privileges within the commercial trucking industry.
A CDL, or Commercial Driver's License, is a specialized license required for individuals who operate commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and tractor-trailers. It's issued by state governments and signifies that the holder has passed the necessary knowledge and skills tests to safely operate these larger vehicles on public roads. CDLs come in different classes, with each class allowing the driver to operate vehicles of specific sizes and types. Obtaining a CDL often involves completing a training program (which we offer!) and passing both written and practical exams to ensure competency in handling commercial vehicles. Becoming ELDT certified requires two parts. We offer the first part which is the theory course.
ELDT stands for Entry-Level Driver Training, mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for individuals obtaining a CDL for the first time or seeking upgrades or endorsements. It ensures new drivers receive essential training in vehicle operation, safety, and regulatory compliance before operating commercial vehicles. CDL Online offers ELDT-certified courses, providing comprehensive training for your CDL pursuits. To become EDLT certified you must complete two parts. The theory is first and behind-the-wheel training is second. While we don’t offer behind-the-wheel training, we do have a comprehensive theory course offering.
